Writing FayTown Calling 6/15/14

Better today than last night. This afternoon I worked on the section that’s been troubling me, adding 1,250 words to the story. Not a lot more than that. Usually, I have something to add about storytelling or writing…but, nope. Anyway, this week is going to be a bit dicey as far as time goes. That’s not really any different than usual, it’s what held up last week, so I’m declaring a plan. Get up early and spend time making new words with a goal of a thousand before I leave for work. At night, do the same thing, or, edit. There is a lot of polish I need to start adding to the story now that things have passed by, so it’s time for that second coat of paint. That’s the plan. See ya’ll tomorrow.

Writing 6/14/14

It’s been so long since I posted, with so little done, I just wrote the date. This week didn’t see a lot of writing done. I fell of the schedule and just never made it back on. Monday was my school, Tuesday was the only night my wife doesn’t have school, Wednesday was procrastination…You get the idea. Though my sister did get induced Friday so I feel pretty good about that excuse, especially considering I have a beautiful new niece. Couldn’t let that opputunity to brag pass, sorry. Tonight I wrote 750 words. It should be more but I’m having trouble focusing. Mowed the yard, which was exceadlingly unpleasent for reasons I’d rather not elaborate on (just, if you think you’re overheated, don’t push it and maybe don’t mow the yard after eating…) and I’m thinking I’m going to read until we finally go to sleep. I have plans for…

Day 17 of Writing FayTown Calling

I did better today, though not near what I wanted to accomplish for this weekend. About 500 words with most of my work as story boarding of one form or another. I was really uncertain about where the story was going so I spent a little while going over that in my head while my son was napping. There was one major issue staring me in my face that, once I figured it out, I couldn’t believe how simple it was to resolve and the rest fell into place as well. I have also started storyboarding for the third Virgil novel, working title DPAV. This shouldn’t get in the way of FayTown Calling, it just gives me something fresh to work on. I found with Sorcerer Rising that as things became more and more concrete and I started putting chapters and concepts about the story to bed, it still took…

Days 15, 16 Writing FayTown Calling

Absolutely disgusted with this as it’s pretty much the only thing I’ve written in two days. Worse, both are completely on me. Friday was work, then home, then to bed early. I looked over at the computer for a brief moment and just couldn’t summon up the energy to do anything. Today, both my son and I slept in while my wife was at school. Saturday is her big day for clinicals so me and the Spawn get to spend the day together. We got up, played until we were hungry, then went and got Chick-fil-a. Played some more until my wife got home (early this Saturday) and then he was down for a nap (which, thanks to the new plane game where I spin him through the air until he “crashes”, he was out instantly). Then I mowed. If you live in the South, you know why I’m exhausted….

Day 12 and 13 Writing FayTown Calling

Yeah, it didn’t take long for me to miss a day. To recap, Monday was my eleventh day of keeping a log on FayTown Calling. Tuesday would have been my twelfth except I never got around to writing or even making a record of not writing. It was a busy day, work, child, wife, sleepy. Twelve was a bust but I got up early today (Tuesday) and wrote before work, knocking out the second half of the section I worked on Monday. I’m writing this post before going to bed because it was another long day and I’m exhausted. I’ll be getting up early tomorrow to write though with a second session at night. My wife will be working on a paper and the spawn will be with his grandparents, so a bit extra time. Will update tomorrow. UPDATE: Okay, changed my mind and ended up starting the next section….
