This is why I’m all about what Marvel and Disney have done with their movies. They are, more than anything else, fun. This looks like it will be a blast.
Bear With Me as I Nerd Out
Growing up, I loved animals. Not like a normal kid, of course, who might love cuddling with animals or playing with them, no, animals pretty much hate me (except cats, go figure). What I always loved was learning about animals, all their amazing little quirks and qualities. Eventually, after so many of the things you hear about animals as a kid (how fast a cheetah is, how quickly piranha can strip a cow of its flesh, etc.) I graduated to monsters and they’ve been my fascination ever since. Every now and then though, I find something out about the world that blows me away, that is simply so amazing I’d have thought it too far-fetched to write about. I’ve seen this video a thousand times, but it’s one of my favorites.
Broker of the Damned
I am happy to announce a new short story, Broker of the Damned. This story gives the first real glimpse into the world of the Coven, and shows what role Witches serve in Virgil’s world. Blurb is below. The United States Magistrate is the organization that all mages fear. For hundreds of years, their Witches have hunted rogue Sorcerers and wild Wizards, binding those that would endanger others with their power. Now, a Necromancer is loose in Mare City, selling his dark arts to the highest bidder. Deputy Magistrate Matthias Ewing is on the case and must find out who this dark mage is and bring him to justice.
Newsletter Update
For those who are interested, I’m trying something new with the newsletter. I am going to try sending out flash stories (about 1000 words) once a week. They are going to be really simple stories, more footnotes on Virgil’s world with a narrative, but they will give insights that won’t be in the books or shirts. Okay, I’ve been messing with this for a week. Apparently, I think, I had a plugin that was messing with WordPress’s Publicize app. What I was seeing was my posts from enathansisk.com go to my personal facebook, twitter, and miss google+ completely. Hopefully this works…
