New Year’s Resolution
Wow, has it really been four and a half months since I posted anything? It would seem so, unfortunately. And as many of you might know, the date I set for the release of FayTown Calling came and went in between that time. First of all, an apology. I should have done many things, the foremost of which was post something, anything, when I realized I wasn’t going to hit that date. The purpose of this site is to be the main information hub for those who are so gracious to give me some of their time and/or money. I mean that. If you like my books, or I guess book since I can’t seem to get that second one out, and especially if you spend hard earned money or your limited time reading them, then you should be able to find more information on the rest. I Love Amazon but the Fire Phone…Snore….
I followed a bit of the Amazon announcement during lunch yesterday, then recapped it later. I’m not exactly in the market for a new phone, I’ve had my Note 3 for almost a year and enjoy it just fine, but I was interested to see a new player on the market. Apple and Samsung have been conquering as far as smartphones go, and frankly it’s just sometimes fun to find a new gadget to want that I can’t necessarily have. After seeing what they’re offering though, I’m nothing but underwhelmed. Amazon is a fantastic company and I use them for a number of things. I’m a Prime subscriber (though I do prefer Netflix for streaming) and I love them for ebooks and music and most everything else. Oh, yeah, and they’re my numero uno for selling my own books. Nevertheless, they’re not the best hardware maker. I have a Kindle…
Day 14 Writing FayTown Calling
I didn’t get up early this morning so I didn’t write before work. I did write a bit when I got home but only a few hundred words. I found myself looking at this section just kinda…bleh. It’s not working. There are a couple characters I thought I had a great opportunity to flesh out but the more I wrote it…just, eh. It’s late and I’m going to bed. I’ll think about this a bit more and tackle it tomorrow. I don’t think too much will get done, but this weekend will be big. My goal is to finish up the ending. I have it all there it’s just a matter of fleshing it out. Night.
Day 4 of 10 Writing FayTown Callin
I was hoping to get more done today, but that just wasn’t in the cards. The good news, I wrote out my action scene. It needs some work (it’s a bit of a mess) but it exists, and that netted me over three thousand words. From there, I have looked over a few more sections and they mostly look fine, it’s just the pacing. I have a tendency to get, for lack of a better word, impatient in certain scenes. I don’t know what causes it, whether it’s discomfort with a theme or setup, I really don’t know, but I have certain scenes that always feel rushed. I have to kneed them out, like dough, until they’re the pacing is where I want it. I was hoping to go over this cluster of sections today and continue on, to get that kneading process out. After dinner though, this migraine came…
